The HID iCLASS 2120 is a dual-technology card: a 13.56 MHz iCLASS contactless smart chip and a 125 kHz HID Prox antenna in one composite card body. It opens doors on both reader types, which makes it the standard answer to a migration — you reissue the building once, then swap readers at your own pace instead of running two sets of badges.

The iCLASS side carries 2k bits (256 bytes) across two application areas. The 125 kHz side takes an HID Prox or Indala format. Both are encoded to order.

One choice on this card matters more than the rest. The programming option decides whether the 125 kHz side is encoded at all: some configurations programme both technologies, others leave the Prox side blank for you to encode in house with an iCLASS SE encoder. If you are migrating from an existing Prox system, you almost certainly want both programmed, and you will need your existing Prox format, facility code and card range as well as your iCLASS details. The configurator only asks for the 125 kHz details when the option you pick actually uses them.

This card is composite by construction, so it takes lamination and retransfer, or high definition (HDP), printing without warping.
