The Stapler-Style Slot Punch With Adjustable Guide (P/N SPID-9750) is a heavy duty metal punch that cuts a rectangular slot hole 1/8" x 0.550" (3 x 14mm) in ID badges and cards. That slot is the one standard badge reels, lanyards and strap clips attach to. The punch has an adjustable guide, and a long metal receptacle catches the punched-out slots so your desk does not end up covered with little plastic rectangles.

The rubber base is a non-slip material and the weighted handle adds leverage, which helps when you have to punch a series of badges throughout the day rather than one card at a time. Choose this model over the plain stapler-style slot punch (3943-2000) when you want the adjustable guide as well as the receptacle. If you need a round hole instead of a rectangular slot, that is a round hole punch, and if you only want to take the sharp corners off a card, that is a corner rounder - both are different tools.
