I create the foundation for each piece with layers of inkjet photographic prints, which I adhere to the front and sides of a wooden panel. I then paint over the entire printed image as well as any exposed surfaces - distilling down to what feels essential to me, while pushing and pulling to create depth in the flatness, air in the shadows and a shimmer in the reflections. \u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e\u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eThis particular piece began with a photo I took while driving around Ocean Beach in San Diego. The dazzle of the silver draped car in front of wild looking Hollywood Juniper trees immediately caught my eye.
