Lion in Tall Grass

I’ve been making a painting every day in my sketchbook for the last 5 years to keep me inspired and playful. When I think about what to paint I tend to choose a subject with a lot of pattern, texture and color, something a little magical. The Lion is a beautiful, strong animal who I want to make huggable. I put him in a magical, fantasy field of grass, playing with marks, color and love.
