The IDP 653543 SMART Wi-Fi Kit adds a wireless network connection to the IDP SMART-51 series. Wi-Fi is an upgrade for the SMART-51, alongside the flipper, Ethernet and laminator modules, and it is fitted in the same way as those. With it, the printer can sit where the issuance desk actually is rather than where the network drop is, and multiple operators can send jobs to it without a cable run or a dedicated print server position.

This is a connectivity option only. It does not add encoding, lamination or dual-sided printing, and it does not change print quality or speed. If you need to write to the card's chip, that is a separate encoder option. There is no firmware or hardware revision requirement for this kit.
