{"product_id":"fragments-i","title":"Fragments I","description":"\u003cp\u003eThe “Fragments” monoprints (one of a kind impressions) combine elements from two woodcut projects. I always save incomplete prints, extras and misprints. Eventually, unfinished work emerges from my flat files and gets combined with a current project. The circles and rings are from a color study series inspired by a traditional color wheel. The spirals are graphics generated using a harmonograph drawing apparatus. This tool employs pendulums to draw analog images as it swings and loses momentum. The drawings made with a sharpie were carved into wood to make impressions on paper. The spirals were layered over the circles to generate moiré effects and unexpected optical results.
